Dr. Courtney Dookie (PsyD)

Dr. Dookie is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. He has his Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in developmental trauma. He achieved his BA in Theology at Northern Caribbean University, Jamaica and MA in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy at Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada.

Dr. Dookie has been providing individuals and couples therapy since 2012. He specializes in developmental trauma and addiction therapy (substance use, gambling addiction, gaming addiction, pornography addiction) and mental health therapy (PTSD, depression, anxiety, eating disorder). Other supports he provides include self-esteem, stress management, anger management, holistic counselling (physical, emotional, and spiritual).

Therapeutic approaches used: Dr. Dookie assumes an eclectic and person-centred approach when working with individuals and couples. His personalized therapy’s major principles are cognitive behavioural therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Gottman couples therapy approach, solution focus, and Narrative Approaches.

Sania Dookie BSW, MA, RSW

Dr. Sania is a Registered Social Worker with the Alberta College of Social Workers.

Over the past decade, Sania has provided mental health and counselling support to individuals, couples and families in mood disorders, lifestyle coaching, stress management, anger management and parenting. In addition, she has worked as a Clinical Social Worker and Generalist Mental Health Therapist in Community Addictions and Mental Health Services, Child and Youth therapist and Sexualized Trauma Specific Counsellor.

Therapeutic approaches used: Sania considers herself an eclectic counsellor. However, she uses cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to support clients in being their own self-coaches. Along with CBT, Sania utilizes the narrative approach, strength-based approach, person-centred approach, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy from a biopsychosocial-spiritual perspective and Christian Counselling.
